Who are we?

Sometimes you may wonder how all the components of the Verachtert Group relate to each other. Of course, this is not always simple to see. Therefore, we have created a chart for you that shows you what parts there are at Verachtert, and how they stand to each other. In fact, it is not that difficult. Most brands or parts just coexist neatly. The company’s interests and ambitions simply lie in a few different niches.

Flashback to 1949: Verachtert NV was founded by Jos Verachtert. It all began as a wholesale business for haberdashery, embroidery thread and knitting yarn. But the company soon grew and began designing and producing craft kits, such as latch hook cushions and Smyrna rugs.

In 1959, the company founded the brand Vervaco to design, produce and commercialize craft kits. Vervaco’s concept is unique because they offer the largest assortment in different techniques. For example, they have kits in cross stitch, latch hook, counted cross stitch and kits for children, as well as printed tablecloths. More than 100 new designs are added every year!

In 1997, production moved to Tunisia. The kits are made with the utmost care and precision. This is with an eye on top quality.

2006 was the year of Verdeco. They proposed the roman blinds.

In 2009, R&H Holding brought a breath of fresh air to the company. Innovation and modernization were a priority for the company’s new directing managers. In 2010, the company decided to acquire the LanArte brand. DressYourDoll also came under the wings of Verachtert.

The company continued to grow. To strengthen their position in the market as a seller of curtains, they acquired the company Topfloor in 2011. With 2 interior stores in Bornem and Dendermonde, they can reach their own customer well. Later a store in Schoten was added.

Later, fabric label Editex joined the company. And with the need for mouth masks in 2020, iMaski was also quickly born.

Fast forward to 2022: The Verachtert Group grew into a company with more than 300 employees across Belgium and Tunisia. Their products are sold in more than 50 countries around the world. Meanwhile, the Verachtert Group consists of 8 different niches, each strong in its own field: Verachtert, Vervaco, Verdeco, Vertex, LanArte, DressYourDoll, iMaski and Editex.
